Zion

We had a fun little weekend getaway with Tay's family down to Zion. We started at the top of Orderville canyon and then down into the narrows. It was a total of about 16 miles!! In ONE day! It the most crazy, fun, scary, intense hike I have ever done. I didn't know what to expect, but it was the coolest slot canyon; it starts out dry, and then water just starts weeping out of the rock! Before you know it, you're wading through waste deep water. Which, by the way, was FREEZING! Since the walls were so high, we barely saw sun, so it was quite chilly all day. But there's so much adrenaline you don't realize it. There were so many parts where you just didn't know how deep the water was, so you couldn't jump. Luckily the boys were brave and would go first, then help all the girls. Here's how it went:
We drove down after work on Friday, and ate at a little pizza restaraunt. Then we walked around some little shops and got an ice cream cone. The boys were in quite a goofy mood...

We went to bed early and got up the next morning at 5. We packed up the packs and rode a shuttle to the top of the canyon. We made friends with some funny doctors on the shuttle, who apparently, are not too good at taking pictures. I was sad this one came out blurry.

We took tons of pictures along the way...guess that's what you get when you have 3 camera happy people. But here ya go...

My first real life owl sighting:

Time to repel! Biggest rush ever.

Our battle wounds:

Pictures really don't do this place justice at all. It was so beautiful, and so scary! They look like little drops and the water wasn't super deep. But we never knew if it was gonna be over our heads or not, and we were so cold and wet, which made everything slippery. It was an incredible hike, and we're hoping to make this a tradition every year. Thanks to Tay's family for an awesome weekend! Love you guys! xo
